Covarrubias: The Rosa and Miguel Covarrubias Collection
January 28, 2000 - April 23, 2000

In commemoration of our 25th Anniversary, the Museum organized an exhibition featuring artwork from the Rosa and Miguel Covarrubias Collection. The exhibition highlighted 150 of over 1,800 objects in this collection. Donated to the Museum in 1976, the collection consists of paintings and works on paper by Miguel and Rosa, as well as an extensive private collection of Mexican Pre-Conquest artifacts, indigenous textiles, ceramicware, photographs and works on paper by masters such as Orozco, Siqueiros, Tamayo, and Rivera.

This was the first public showing of the prestigious Rosa and Miguel Covarrubias Collection.
