Dra. Gloria Arjona brings us a multi-media presentation featuring several female icons of Mexican HERstory, told through images, text and live music. An enlightening show filled with music, fact and fun.
Gloria Arjona was born in the Unites States and grew up in Mexico City, where she began a career in English Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She later moved to the United States, where she received a B.A. in Spanish from California State University-Los Angeles, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish, from the University of Southern California.
Dra. Arjona is also a singer and lecturer. She does interdisciplinary presentations that combine lecture, music, and media, addressing different themes of Latin America. She has been singing for nine years with the Jazz and Bossa Nova band "Along for the Ride," with whom she recorded the album Cromático (2008), and Jobim and Vinicius Across Languages (2015), that include Jazz and Boosa Nova standards, as well as four original songs.
